Call to Arms. Or Perhaps Do It Another Way. – Day 26

The secret of fortune is joy in our hands. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What if today, right now, no jokes at all, you were actually in charge, the boss, the Head Honcho. Write the “call to arms” note you’re sending to everyone (staff, customers, suppliers, Board) charting the path ahead for the next 12 months and the next 5 years. Now take this manifesto, print it out somewhere you can see, preferably in big letters you can read from your chair.

You’re just written your own job description. You know what you have to do. Go!

(bonus: send it to the CEO with the title “The things we absolutely have to get right – nothing else matters.”)

Right. This one doesn’t really apply to me since I’m self employed. Also, I don’t like to make specific chart of my plans. Yes, I’ve heard many people said the key to success is to plan everything ahead. Yes, I tried it. To the point that it’s stressing me out, thinking that I will never be successful because I never have a detailed day to day, hour to hour plan.

I don’t think path charting is for everyone. If you that kind of person, good for you. If you’re not, it’s not the end of the world. Live your life the way you think is best for you. I’d rather have a to achieve list instead of a day to day plan ;).
