Five Years. – Day 8

Five Years by Corbett Barr

There will be an agreement in whatever variety of actions, so they be each honest and natural in their hour. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What would you say to the person you were five years ago? What will you say to the person you’ll be in five years?

(Author: Corbett Barr)

I’m going to tell her to keep being positive, as it would be the best way to deal with everything in the future. If I’m allowed to give premonition, I’m going to ask her to tell the parents to visit them that summer. I will tell her to finish the thesis as soon as possible, at least before moving from Bremen. The longer she worked on it, the worse it will be. So just swallow that bitter pill already and start working on your dream of writing a novel!

I’m going to remind the person I’ll be in five years that whatever happens to me then, I am proud of her. I know she had done her best. Even if the way in between had bumps, or things not turning out the way we wanted to, that’s part of life. As long as we know we have made a conscious decision over our effort and destiny, whatever comes out of it, it would be for the best. Remember to look back from time to time and reflect on how far you’ve made it already!
